EVERYTHING IS PERSONAL. INCLUDING THIS JOURNAL.
Here's to making Lord Jesus' Name known far and wide.
Grace here! I'm in my 20s, and beyond grateful for the opportunities to study and share the Word of God which changed my life for the better as a daughter, friend, and young working professional in international education.
I love traveling, photography, playing ultimate frisbee, designing education programs, kart racing, watching movies, and writing.
a story you should know
WORTH OF SACRIFICE
Oftentimes, for us who lived after Jesus came to earth, it's hard to conceptualize the ultimate sacrifice made more than two thousand years ago because no similar sacrifice that big was ever made again, even to this day. And we also are limited by our human imagination. But because Jesus loves us, He made sure we have the Bible, an incomparable literature masterpiece.
If you haven't read it much and haven't really understood the sacrifice made by Jesus and what it was for, give this video a try as a starting point.
I've seen very few videos about Christianity but the one which really struck a strong cord in my heart is this film. I can't find the exact version I saw but this video is about a drawbridge operator whose job is to lower a bridge each day so a passenger train can pass through and raise it so ships in the river can continue their trade. One day he brought his only son to work so he can see the impressive pulleys, gears, and magnificent view of the river.
Then, something unexpected happened.
What did you think? Let me leave you with a quote that my heart and mind heavily resonated with about the reality of Jesus' sacrifice:
"I sometimes think about the cross and shut my eyes and try to see the cruel nails, the crown of thorns, and Jesus crucified for me. But even could I see him die, I would see but a little part of that great love, which like a fire, is always burning in his heart. You are valuable to God. God's love for you is personal."
Ravi Zacharias
Hebrews 4:12: "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
